Choose your treatment

Aftercare by treatment type.

  • Expect a small red swelling at the injection site immediately after - it should reduce within 30 minutes. Do not apply pressure on treated areas (this can cause undesired spread of product).
  • Bruising or redness can occasionally occur and usually disappears within a few days. A full bruise may take longer to heal.
  • Full effects are not instant - most people see changes within 5 days and a full result by 14 days. Any reviews must take place within 2-4 weeks of treatment.
  • Avoid touching the area and applying makeup directly to injection sites for 24 hours.
  • Avoid alcohol, exercise, hot showers/baths, steam rooms and saunas for at least 24 hours.
  • Avoid rubbing the face for 24 hours, and avoid facials or facial massage elsewhere for at least 2 weeks.
  • Avoid Ibuprofen or Aspirin for 24 hours (unless for other medical reasons) - paracetamol is fine.

Review appointments

We don't offer routine reviews following botulinum toxin. If you have concerns or unwanted side effects, contact info@theacademyclinic.co.uk. You'll be asked to send a photo or video first. £30 charge for review appointments - must take place between 2 and 4 weeks after your initial treatment.
